Ricky Craven shows his true colors about the Kenseth saga

Former driver and current ESPN NASCAR analyst Ricky Craven shared his honest thoughts about the events that led up to Matt Kenseth's spin of Joey Logano late in Sunday's Sprint Cup Series race in Martinsville, Virginia, and why NASCAR's two-race suspension of Kenseth was a bit too harsh. Craven, who has never spoke fondly of many of the configurations of NASCAR's Chase for the Cup over the year (but did make his own "Rule of 72" relating to the format immediately preceding the current four-round, 16-driver-with-elimination one) agreed with many fans and some drivers with his beliefs that current CEO Brian France's constant tinkering with the rules and championship formats factored into Logano's initial spin of Kenseth at Kansas, and said Logano didn't need ot win Kansas because he was already locked into round 3 after winning at Charlotte. Craven added that the stark contrast between NASCAR's response to Logano's actions and those of Kenseth illustrates the common inconsistencies in the sport today.
