Peters steals Phoenix truck win; Crafton slides to third in standings

Timothy Peters drove the #17 Red Horse Racing Toyota to his second Camping World Truck Series win in the last four races, holding off the #8 Chevrolet of John Hunter Nemechek Friday night at Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Arizona. This came after a late-race turn of events in which point leader Erik Jones (#4) and Matt Crafton (#88) were in a battle for the lead with 30 of 150 laps remaining in the race. Crafton forced Jones into the outside retaining wall, then slid across the track, htting his teammate Johnny Sauter (#98). The incident allowed Tyler Reddick (#19) to pass the two-time defending champion to take second in the standings. William Byron (#9) and Rico Abreu (#31), both making their series debuts, also got caught up in wrecks, as did Peters' teammate Ben Kennedy (#11).
