A fond farewell to Larry McReynolds

On Sunday at Sonoma, Larry McReynolds called his final Sprint Cup race for Fox NASCAR. McReynolds had played the "crew chief" role alongside TV veteran Mike Joy and "driver" Darrell Waltrip since Fox's coverage of NASCAR began at Daytona Speedweeks in 2001. McReynolds will be replaced by the retiring Jeff Gordon, thus giving Fox two commentators in the driver role. NBC, meanwhile, will kick off their coverage at Daytona next Sunday with the traditional NASCAR broadcast format.
